Self-Isolation Learning Packs

At St Helen’s Catholic Primary School, we aim to provide learning opportunities for all of our children to ensure that the need to learn remotely does not disadvantage our pupils. As a school we appreciate that:

“children and young people have very different home lives and very different levels of parental support” Joint ASCL, NAHT and NEU guidance March 2020.

Therefore, at St Helen’s we endeavour to support all our families in a flexible way in line with DfE contingency planning guidance.

Types of Remote Learning

Remote Learning will take place in 3 possible scenarios:

1. An individual student is self-isolating or in quarantine

Communication will take place through the use of the Class Email addresses where necessary to support parents where children are self-isolating for short periods of time.

Parents should access a self-isolation pack, recommended by the DfE and matched to national curriculum content. This will be made available on the school’s website for each year group. With a range of resources, these packs will help continue the learning inside your home. Parents are asked not to use these packs unless their child is isolating.

2. A bubble group is self-isolating

Communication will take place through the use of the Class Email address. Communication will be made with parents/carers to identify learning provision through the use of Microsoft Teams. All children have Microsoft Teams Logins.

3. The whole school is working remotely

Communication will take place through the use of the Class Email address. Communication will be made with parents/carers to identify learning provision through the use of Microsoft Teams.
