Geography

At St. Helen’s Catholic Primary School, we believe that all children should be provided with a curriculum that teaches and helps them to discover and develop their varied gifts and talents. In Geography, these gifts and talents will be nurtured so the children will have the skills and knowledge to understand their world locally, in the U.K and globally. Geography is an investigative subject, which develops an understanding of concepts, knowledge and skills. Within this, we seek to promote the children’s interest and understanding of diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes. As our curriculum is thematic in design, we aim to support our children to transfer their developing knowledge and skills as inspiring geographers to a range of rich learning contexts.
